44 Research projects led be PhD Holder and 15 research projects led By Young Researchers were competing. Six Research Projects (PhD Holder) won the Award one from each sector. While four Research projects (non-PhD Holder). 60 Thousand Omani Rial was the total Amount for these projects distributed to the winning Research projects. The winners were awarded during the 1st Annual Research Forum a long with TWAS 25th General Meeting hosted by the Sultanate, organized by the Research Council, Ministry of Higher Education and Sultan Qaboos University during 25 to 28 October 2014. The Winning research projects has touched on several topics, including the development of using fuzzy logic and multivariate analysis within the platform of geographic information systems to search for the best areas to focus solar energy systems led by Dr. Yassin Sharabi and a study on the etiology of fungal associated with palm roots of disease characterization in the Sultanate of Oman by Dr. Abdullah Al-Saadi and a study on the motives of companies that dividends distributed by thanking repeatedly led by Dr. Khamis Al-Yahyai, and a study on the impact of glue Arab chronic renal failure patients from Dr. Badr al-Din Ali, and a study on the importance of nurturing parenting styles in shaping the character of children in Omani family led by Dr. Said Al-dhafri, and a study on Ontology driven Decision Support System for detection and risk assessment of Hypertension in related diseases in Sultanate of Oman by Sherimon P.C, and a study on the importance of the extension of the solid pipe technology and what it represents a quantum leap in drilling and design of new wells process as well as the solution to many problems in the existing wells by Omar Al-abri and a study on depression and associated factors have among the elderly attending primary health care centers in the interior province by Sultana Mohammed Saif al-sabahi and study on academic and social self-concept: the impact of teaching and variable Gender patterns in the context of English language learning a foreign language by Marwa Alrajeh, and a study to identify the Surface cracks of dates by color pictorial technique of Susanna Al-rehbi.
