The establishment of the National Research Award is considered a translation and partial realization of the National Research Strategy 2008-2020.The Award aims to encourage researchers to conduct high quality research of national importance.

Award Objectives

  • Encourage researchers to continue their activities and initiatives in conducting high quality research.
  • Encourage the development of the research culture and enhance the quality of the research output in the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Increase research output, that is relevant and of important to the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Increase the level of awareness about TRC and its various initiative and programs to support research and innovation.

Categories of the Award

  • Category I: Best published research led by a PhD holder or equivalent (Consultant or senior consultant in the medical field)
  • Category II: Best published research led by a young researcher (a non-PhD holder)

   56 Research projects led be PhD Holder and 27 research projects led By Young Researcher were competing. Six Research Projects (PhD Holder) won the Award one from each sector.
